Privacy

Almost nothing to disclose.

Heartwood has no analytics, no telemetry, no accounts, and no tracking of any kind. There is nothing to opt out of. Here is the complete list of what leaves your Mac, and why.

Update checks

The app periodically fetches its update feed from heartwood.rall.digital so new versions can install themselves. Like any web request, that reaches our host (Cloudflare) with your IP address and a user-agent string. No system profile, identifier, or usage data is attached, and we do not use these requests to track installs.

License activation

When you activate, validate, or deactivate a license key, the app sends that key and your Mac's name (the name from Sharing settings, used to label the activation so you can tell your Macs apart) to Lemon Squeezy's license service at api.lemonsqueezy.com. That is the entire payload.

Checkout

Purchases run through Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record. Your payment details go to them, never to us; their privacy policy covers checkout. We receive order records (name, email, license key) so we can support you and process refunds.

Everything else stays on your Mac

Server addresses and credentials live in the macOS Keychain on your Mac. Backup state, history, trial dates, and settings are stored locally. Heartwood reads your Time Machine configuration with the Full Disk Access you grant it and sends none of it anywhere.
